Ball Pein (or Peen) hammer is used to peen (harden or shape) material. The round hemispherical head marks wire, sheet or other materials with nice round peens or dents. This can be for aesthetic appearance and also for hardening the material being hammered. The other side of the hammer can also be used to harden wire or other materials without the small round dents as with the pein or peen side.
