Having entered service in 2017 as the fourth generation of the Boeing 737, the 737 MAX is a twin-engine, narrow-body airliner designed to succeed the Boeing 737 Next Generation series and to compete with the Airbus A320neo family. It offers several significant improvements over earlier variants, including more efficient engines, a fly-by-wire system, enhanced cockpit features, improved aerodynamics, and increased range. The 737 MAX 8 can be configured to seat up to 200 passengers and directly replaces the third-generation Boeing 737-800. This Air Canada version sports the airline's new livery, featuring a primarily white fuselage with a black cockpit window mask, black “Air Canada” lettering, and a black underside and tail emblazoned with the airline's red maple leaf logo.
