This antiserum specifically targets human keratin K71 (57.3 kDa), staining the Henle, Huxley, and cuticle layers of the inner root sheath in hair follicles. Despite homology with keratins K5 and K6, no cross-reactivity was detected via Western blotting or immunofluorescence microscopy.
