This hardened industrial POE switch is designed for the extreme temperature environments of solar trailers, solar power systems, and other demanding applications. With the ability to operate in a wide range of conditions from -40° to 158° Fahrenheit, it delivers consistent performance even in harsh climates. The switch supports a wide voltage input range of 12V to 48V DC, making it compatible with most solar battery types and configurations. Once connected, it automatically inverts the power to the correct active POE standard, allowing it to power nearly all types of IP cameras and other POE-enabled devices. All eight POE ports support IEEE802.3af/at active POE with up to 30 watts of output per port. When powered with 12V DC, the switch provides a total output budget of 90 watts, while 24V DC or higher increases the total output to 120 watts. Dual power inputs are included for redundancy, ensuring the switch remains operational if one battery fails. Additional functionality is available through four optional dip-switch features located on the front of the unit. Quality of Service prioritizes traffic on ports 1 and 2 for smoother performance. POE Extend Mode allows ports 1 through 8 to transmit both data and power over cable lengths up to 820 feet, with speeds adjusting to 10 Mbps when this mode is enabled. Auto Port Reboot Repair detects when a connected device has been inactive for 2 to 3 minutes and automatically restarts the port to restore connection. Port Isolation prevents the POE ports from communicating with each other, allowing them to only connect through the uplink ports for added network security. The switch features a total of ten ports: eight POE ports and two non-POE uplink ports. Every port is gigabit rated at 10/100/1000 and includes surge protection for added durability. While it is engineered for solar applications, it is also well suited for mobile installations, factory environments, and other scenarios where only DC power is available. This unit is built with heavy duty metal construction, includes a DIN rail mount for easy installation, and measures 5.875 by 4.875 by 2.25 inches.
