The most common use of the SlimSAS 8i cable is in a chassis environment with SFF-8643 connectors at each end. The other common uses are as an adapter between two SFF-8643 connectors or an SFF-8643 to Mini SAS cable.
The SlimLineSAS 8i is available in lengths from 50CM up to 15 meters and can be ordered with either straight or angled connectors.
It can be used with SAS devices. These cables are built to comply with the requirements of SAS 4x cables.
The cable comes with a 50CM length, connecting two devices using the Mini-SAS SFF-8643 connector and the dual SFF-8644 connectors. The cable uses stranded copper wires and features a drain wire for protection against EMI/RFI interference.
