A Metric Hex Flange Nut is a nut that has a wide flange at one end that acts as an integrated, non-spinning washer.
The flange assists in distributing the pressure of the nut over the part being secured, reducing the chance of damage to the area and making it less likely to loosen as a result of an uneven fastening surface.

Flange nuts are available in serrated and non-serrated, the serrations create a locking action, allowing a serrated flange nut to be substituted for a lock nut.
Flange nuts are available in Stainless Steel and Zinc Plated Steel for corrosion resistance.
