  • Wide Utility: The AD8362 is a true RMS power detector capable of measuring complex modulated s, including CDMA, W CDMA, 8PSK, QAM, and OFDM. Its measurement results are independent of the waveform, making it suitable for various communication standards such as IS95, CDMA2000, 3GPP, GSM , MMDS, and other broadband access devices. This versatility ensures accurate power detection across multiple applications.
  • High Dynamic Range: With an input dynamic range extending from 75 dBm to 16 dBm, the AD8362 offers a wide operational span. In a 50 Ohm system, this translates to and linearity, providing precise linear output voltage in dB with a slope of 50 mV per dB. This broad range makes it optimal for detecting both very low and high power s efficiently.
  • Controller Mode: By setting a reference voltage at the VSET pin, users can configure the AD8362 to output a high level when the detected power exceeds this threshold. Conversely, if the detected power is below the set value, the device uses AD8307 for measurement, with a typical linear slope of 0.025V dB. This mode is equipped with a shielding shell and anti reverse connection diode for enhanced reliability and against electrical interference.
  • Power Measurement Mode: When the VOUT and VSET pins are directly connected, the output voltage becomes proportional to the logarithm of the effective value of the input power. For every 1 dB increase in input power, the output voltage increases by 50 mV, up to a maximum of 0.1 V relative to the supply voltage. This mode is particularly useful for applications requiring precise power metering or detection within equipment, ensuring accurate readings.
  • Frequency Band: Operating over a frequency range from 50 Hz to 3.8 GHz, the AD8362 is designed for broadband power detection with flat input and output responses. This extensive bandwidth capability makes it suitable for a variety of communication systems, ensuring consistent performance across different frequencies.
