This is heavy duty. The motor mount's crossbar T6061 alumimum that is 3" wide x 28.750" and 3/8" thick to help minimize motor vibration.The motor block is 1-7/8" thick ash hardwood and sealed with a exterior acrylic urethane. It can be changed to a left or right hand mount by removing the block and reassembling on the opposite side. This mount requires no tools and can be tightened with one hand. Just set the clamps to the gunwale tighten the star bolt so that the wingnut engages the clamp hole then tighten down tight. The clamps work well on the majority of canoes but not all. If yours is a Coleman, Pelican Ram-X , Grumman Eagle, Marine and other models, Old Town Saranac, Indian River or Bass Pro Ascend you'll need a different clamping system that we will provide.
