This is heavy duty. The motor mount's crossbar T6061 alumimum that is 3" wide and adjustible length from 28.750 out t0 40.750" and 3/8" thick to help minimize motor vibration.The motor block is 1-3/4" thick ash hardwood and sealed with a exterior acrylic urethane. This mount requires no tools and can be tightened with one hand. Just set the clamps to the gunwale tighten the star bolt so that the wingnut engages the clamp hole then tighten down tight. The clamps work well on the majority of canoes but not all. Feel free to message me with your model. Depending on the model you may need a different clamping system. If yours is a Coleman, Pelican Ram-X , Grumman Eagle, Marine and other models, Old Town Saranac, Indian River or Bass Pro Ascend you'll need a different clamping system that we will provide.
