Contraindications: Any skin irritations, allergies to dyes, congestive heart failure, arterial disorders, existing DVT. If any of these conditions apply, consult your physician for advice.
Gradient compression hosiery is constructed differently than traditional hosiery. Those who have never worn gradient compression before may feel that these garments are difficult to put on or tighter than traditional hosiery. It is this "snug" fit that provides the graduated pressure. It is very important to measure the ankle, calf, and sometimes thigh to ensure a proper fit and to receive the benefits of the graduated compression.
If pain, discomfort, or areas of binding occur, the stockings should be removed immediately. Always consult with your physician before wearing gradient compression garments.
