Winsor and Newton Classic Watercolour Paper is produced by experienced papermakers in Italy from a blend of 25 Percent cotton and cellulose fibres. The paper has a fine-grained surface and is ideal for most watercolour styles, gouache, fineliners and ink. The paper offers a good light reflection, and preserves the transparency of watercolour paint. Due to the inner and outer gluing, the paper has an optimal absorbency and is extremely stable. Classic watercolour paper is acid-free and contains no optical brighteners. The naturally white paper is archival quality and does not yellow. Manufactured with hydroelectric power to reduce greenhouse gas emissions in production, and also made from FSC-certified pulp to protect forests.
