First seeing action during the WWII Battle of Normandy, the British Cromwell tank was a cruiser tank named after military and government leader Oliver Cromwell from the English Civil War. Designed to fire on the move, the MK IV rolled off the production line in 1943 fitted with 75 mm guns. The fastest tank on the field, also had some of the best manuevering as it didn't lose power while turning, as most tanks did, became a huge asset to the Allies in both offensive attacks and defence as no otherer tank could keep up as it could reach speeds of 40 mph. Cromwells were also on the smaller side and quite reliable, keeping a low profile, they weren't all that effecient on their own as their guns were light, they weren't as affective against heavily armored tanks and artillery, but when teamed up with other Allied tanks that could take on the heavier weapons, they were a force to be reckoned with.
