Easy to install: Some homes have surface mount electrical panels. These panels are easy to install the SPD by popping out a 7/8-inch diameter knockout hole and mounting the SPD on the door. Some homes have service entrances that are flush mounted rather than exposed. This type of installation will benefit from an SPD flush mount box. Cut a hole in the drywall near the distribution panel and mount the box in the hole. Once the wiring is complete, secure the box with drywall anchors.
