This broad spectrum interference filter completely blocks all UV and IR rays and allows the visible spectrum range to pass through unhindered.
Digital camera sensors are inherently sensitive to infrared light, which can interfere with normal photography. Infrared light also often produces a "flare ghost effect" on images. This is why many digital cameras use IR blockers. However, many cameras or applications do not have IR filters/blockers. This is where UV-IR cut filters come into play.
This filter is particularly recommended for CCD applications where digital image sensors are mounted without an IR blocker. As a result, its application range extends from video cinema to digital photography to special technical applications. In traditional photography, it is suitable for shooting in mountainous areas, seaside and mid-summer conditions.
