Engineered for steep rock climbing on small holds with aggressive downturned shape. PSR 8. LV model has a 6% lower overall volume than the Phantom for narrower feet or a snugger, higher-performance fit.
Evolv climbing shoes are not designed to be downsized. Evolv sizing uses three categories of fit: Max Performance. Ultra Snug. Use street shoe size. Performance. Snug. Add .5 to 1.0 sizes to street size. Comfort. Relaxed. Add 1.0 to 1.5 sizes to street size.
PSR is a rock shoe selection tool that ranges from (1) sensitive/smearing to (10) powerful/edging. PSR 1-3. Highly sensitive for smearing and volumes. PSR 4-7. Versatile for smearing and edging. PSR 8-10. Powerful for small holds.
Evolv shoes come in 2 different volumes. Low-Volume LV is designed for a maximum performance fit and lower-volume foot shapes. Medium-Volume MV is designed for a snug fit and average-volume foot shapes.
Description
The Evolv Phantom LV Climbing Shoe (PSR 8) is a low-volume version of one of our most aggressively downturned climbing shoes for boulderers with narrow feet. A downturned toe box accents its aggressively cambered shape. The plastic midsole is thicker at the forefoot for a rigid downturn, and it gets thinner at the toe to provide the sensitivity that so many challenging boulders require. A stretch-resistant upper sports a 6-point single-pull closure for absolute snugness. We made the sole with our stickiest TRAX SAS rubber compound to keep a firm grip on plastic and all rock types. Rounded out with a Dark Spine S heel midsole, pushing more power through your foot to the toebox, there's a reason high-level athletes like Daniel Woods and Zach Galla wear this shoe.
