Special Features

  • 4-Piece Long Carbide Burr Set with 6mm Shank This set includes 4 carbide burrs with a 6mm shank, total length of 155mm, and head diameters of 8mm and 10mm.
  • Safety Guidelines for Proper Usage To prevent shank bending and ensure safe operation, maintain contact between the carbide burr bits and the workpiece while the tool is running, starting, or stopping. If continuous contact cannot be maintained, avoid exceeding the maximum idling speed to reduce risks.
  • Suitable for Tight and Hard-to-Reach Areas These carbide burrs are designed for use in confined spaces where grinding discs or wheels may not be effective. The double-cut design provides a smoother finish and minimizes chip size compared to single-cut options.
  • Versatile Applications for Various Materials Ideal for deburring, smoothing, grinding, and porting, these long shank carbide burrs work well on materials such as cast iron, steel, aluminum, cylinder heads, engine intakes, and exhaust manifolds.
  • Durable and Balanced Design Featuring sharp and well-balanced cutting edges, these carbide burrs are built for consistent performance.

Description

Product Specifications
4-piece long shank carbide burrs with a shank diameter of 6mm, head diameter ranging from 8mm to 10mm, and total length between 147mm and 155mm.
Usage Instructions:
General Usage Tips
Burrs are typically used counter-rotationally or with a swinging motion. For fine finishes and chamfers, move the tool quickly and lightly over the workpiece in the direction of rotation.
Pressure and Speed Guidelines
Avoid applying excessive pressure on the rotary tool. Multiple light passes are more effective than a single deep pass. Allow the tool's speed to do the work, and do not exceed the maximum idling or application speed.
Clamping Depth and Rotation Speed
For optimal performance, clamp the burr shank as deeply as possible, ensuring the shank is inserted to the bottom of the clamp. If clamping less shank depth, reduce the rotary tool's rotation speed.
Clamping System Requirements
Use only a 6mm rigid clamp system (collet and nut). These burrs are not compatible with 1/4" (6.35mm) collets and nuts. High-speed rotary tools are recommended, while 3-jaw chuck drills are not ideal.
Burr Immersion and Tool Power
Do not immerse more than 1/3 of the burr's periphery into the workpiece. For tools with a 6mm shank, a minimum of 300W is recommended for coarse cuts, while 500W+ and short shank burrs are better suited for heavy-duty tasks.
Handling Impact and Lubrication
Avoid impact loads to prevent tooth breakage or shank bending. For soft materials like aluminum, use a lubricant to minimize debris clogging. Water can be used as a lubricant for glass.
Tool Operation and Safety
When operating at high speeds, avoid lifting the burr away from the workpiece during startup, operation, or shutdown. Using a foot switch is recommended for better control.
Safety Precautions
Always wear ear, eye, face protection, and safety gloves. Firmly grip the rotary tool with both hands and use a swinging motion to reduce the risk of kickback, wobble, or sudden movement.
Important Notes: Bent Risk
To prevent shank bending and ensure safety, maintain contact between the carbide burr bits and the workpiece while the tool is running, starting, or stopping. If continuous contact cannot be maintained, do not exceed the maximum idling speed.
Max idling speed without contact to workpiece:
Head Diameter 8mm: ≤6000 RPM
Head Diameter 10mm: ≤4000 RPM
Max application speed with contact to workpiece:
Head Diameter 8mm: ≤11000 RPM
Head Diameter 10mm: ≤9000 RPM
