【Compatible】- VTEC valve compatible with 2.0L 2.4L Hon1da & Acura models, including 2003-2007 Hon1da Accord 2 Door Coupe, 2003-2007 Hon1da Accord 4 Door Sedan, 2002-2005 Hon1da Civic Si Models, 2002-2009 Hon1da CR-V, 2003-2011 Hon1da Element, 2002-2006 Acura RSX Base Leather Models.
【Function】 - The VTEC system provides the engine with valve timing optimized for both low and high RPM operations. The VTEC solenoid actually allows oil to flow to the internal galleries of the overhead camshaft. This means that the housing of the solenoid is holding back full engine oil pressure. A spool solenoid valve can direct the flow of hydraulic fluid. The valve is made up of spools that rotate or slide to block and open channels in a hydraulic system.
【Common symptoms】- If your vehicle won't go past 3000 RPM, a check engine light (CEL) with code P2646 or P2647 shows up on your dash or dirty motor oil; roughness of idling engine; fuel efficiency is reduced. You need to replace your VTEC Solenoid Spool Valve in time.
【Quality & Installation】- solenoid utilizes aluminum valve bodies that are surface-treated to create micro finished surfaces for increased wear resistance, means you will get a fairly reliable solenoid assembly to perform excellently under all engine operating conditions. The spool valve solenoid assembly can easily be located inside the engine bay behind the engine on the passenger side of the vehicle and can be removed by removing 3 bolts.
Description
The VTEC system increases the amount of intake valve lift for increased power. It accomplishes this by turning a control solenoid 'ON' to allow oil pressure into the VTEC control passages to apply pins that will lock the intake rockers.
Inspection and Replacement of VTEC Solenoid Valve:
The spool valve solenoid assembly can be easily installed in the engine compartment and can be removed by removing 3 bolts. It is recommended to replace the spool valve assembly with the oil pressure switch, not just the oil pressure switch. After removing the VTEC solenoid valve assembly, check the solenoid valve filter. If the filter is blocked, replace the filter cleaner and the sealing gasket of the engine lubricating solenoid valve. Once removed, the new parts must be replaced. Remove the V Ⅵ EC solenoid valve, check whether the valve moves freely with fingers, and replace the solenoid valve if there is jamming.
