Steps to Replace the Steering Rack Boot

Step 1: Preparation:
1.1 Locate the rack and pinion bellow under the steering wheel where it connects to the steering column and gear.
1.2 Document the setup with photos or videos and secure the vehicle on a flat surface with the handbrake engaged.

Step 2: Removal:
2.1 Remove the steering wheel by unscrewing the safety bolts with a wrench.
2.2 Detach the old dust cover (usually plastic) by pulling it down or gently pushing it until it loosens.

Step 3: Installation:
3.1 Slide the new dust cover over the steering column and secure it with tie wraps and clamps.
3.2 Reassemble the system by reinstalling the steering wheel and tightening the security bolts, ensuring all connections are secure.

Step 4: Testing:
