Both of my parents were professional musicians, so it should be no surprise that our holidays were filled with carols and song. One of our favorites was The Twelve Days of Christmas. We each had a solo verse, and then everyone would chime in on "five golden rings." Twelve Days evokes the essence of the holiday season presented in a candlelit, stained-glass look. Though the lyrics are steeped in symbolic significance, many of us just remember the fun and smiles that the song brings.
