SVBONY SV240 Multi-Narrowband Galaxy & Nebula Filter NIR Near-infrared Light Pollution Filter 2" A new galaxy and nebula filter intended for shooting not only nebulae, but also galaxies by the use of the transmittance around the near infrared region. Considering the high quantum efficiency (QE) characteristics of the latest cameras (such as IMX585 and IMX464) in the near-infrared region and taking into consideration that this region is less susceptible to artificial light pollution, the filter adds high transmission in the near-infrared (NIR) band. This spectrum design improves the image signal-to-noise ratio and contrast by capturing signal in visible bands and NIR regions while maintaining good colour balance and being easier to manage in post-processing. Passing near-infrared region is for shooting deep sky objects that cannot be imaged with other filters without NIR transmission. SVBONY SV260 multi-bandpass filter is a 5-bandpass broadband pass light pollution filter. Equipped with OD4 cut-off depth and over 90% peak transmittance, the filter is designed to isolate 6-level light pollution and make light wave transmission maximum to enhance deep-sky details and improve the visibility of deep-sky objects. OD4 cut-off depth filters out the unnecessary light produced by artificial lighting including mercury vapor lamps, both high & low-pressure sodium vapor lights, and the unwanted natural light caused by neutral oxygen emission in our atmosphere (i.e. skyglow). More than 90% peak transmittance reduces the light loss and delivers images of broadband-emitting objects, such as galaxies, reflection nebulae, and globular clusters, with minimal color cast. The SV260 filter effectively brings you a better shooting experience when starfield shooting and deep-sky photography.
