MATERIAL: Baltic Birch Plywood, generally regarded as higher quality than standard plywood. It is made entirely from Baltic Birch plies, and unlike regular plywood, it has no softwood or filler plies in the center. The plies are glued together with waterproof glue, and when exterior paint is used, it is suitable for outdoor signs. Baltic Birch Plywood will have small variations of color, grain patterns, and small mineral streaks are typical.
THICKNESS: Many of the wood letters available on Amazon are no thicker than a few sheets of paper. Or wooden letters are 1/2 inch thick, providing a lightweight product yet extremely strong and durable. The perfect thickness to apply to a sign, wall, or base. Thick enough to be used as free standing wood letters.
CLEAN: The multiple layers in Baltic Birch plywood produce a clean solid edge with no holes to fill. Our wood letters are not cut with lasers, so there are no black edges or smoke residue. Each letter is hand-sanded but may require a little touch-up because a slight change in the humidity can cause the wood grain to rise; use a fine grade of sandpaper to go around the edges lightly.
