How to apply painter's tape
Step 1: Surfaces must be clean, dust free, and dry before application.
Step 2: Slowly apply the tape to the surface, applying pressure as you go.
Step 3: Secure the tape down firmly with your hands or use a putty knife.
Step 4: Wait 45-60 minutes before starting to paint.

Tips and tricks
TEXTURED AREAS: Apply the tape and then add a very thin line of paintable caulk to seal the tape to the rough surface. Smooth the caulk with a rag and, once dry, start to paint.
WINDOWS, CORNERS, TRIM: Use wide painters tape on these areas so it wraps around trim or windows easily.
REMOVING TAPE: First, ensure the paint is dry to the touch. Use a blade to score along the edge of the tape if you're worried the paint may crack or lift. Remove the tape at a 45-degree angle, or if it seems very sticky, try a 90-degree angle.
TAPE NOT STICKING? If you find this is happening, ensure the surface is completely clean and dry. Open windows and doors to help dry a humid room. Wash the surface and allow plenty of time to dry, or use a fan or hair dryer.
