This is a brand new, working part, this buttons fingerprint recognition function is disabled by default as the Touch ID is matched to the logic board; It is similar to the iPhones. This means you can use the power on and off function only rather than the Touch ID.
Unfortunately, at this point in time, there is no way around this and the only option to have the Touch ID working as well is to go to Apple directly but the cost of repair would be very high.
