Taper length drills have longer overall lengths as well as longer flute lengths than standard jobber drills. The longer length is useful in any applications requiring more reach. The longer length of these drills increases their effective reach through drill bushings. Use peck cycles in deeper holes to achieve better chip evacuation. The tanged end on the shank allows the drill to be used in split sleve drill drivers. Carbide tips brazed to hardened tool steel bodies. Not recommended for use in steels (use a die drill or coolant drill instead).
