This unique drum accessory from Adoro allows you to play drums much more quietly without compromising your playing style. Silent Sticks & Beaters are designed to play with the normal feel and sound, at a fraction of the volume.
Are these drumsticks really designed for live performance?Silent Sticks & Beaters are designed for live play first and foremost, for intimate living room gigs, and for recording sessions.
Do the sticks work on cymbals and any type of drum?Yes, and Silent Sticks achieve an excellent sound that is very close to that of regular sticks. The beaters are also ideal for playing on a Cajon.
How much quieter are they than regular sticks & beaters? They are about 4-9 dB quieter, thanks not only to the light weight of their polycarbonate shaft, but also to the Dual-Twist Reflex Tips, which absorb most of the impact, flex, and thus, unlike rods and similar solutions, give the stick its rebound - just much quieter.
How durable are they compared to normal wooden sticks?Compared to lightweight wooden sticks, Silent Sticks last about two to three times as long, and especially much longer than Wood Rods.
They can't be any better than a Plexiglas Drum Shield, can they?Indeed, Silent Sticks reduce the drums without massively affecting their sound.
How do the Silent Beaters differ from other low-noise mallets? Our Mallet has one thin and one thick additional pad, which not only serves to dampen, but also reduces friction on the head - conventional beaters usually destroy fabric heads easily. That's why our pads have a Teflon coating to minimize friction.
