This microphone uses a single AAA battery and features an intelligent power on/off switch. When turned on the microphone is ready in stand-by mode, and goes into run-mode automatically when the camera or device turns on. This allows you to save battery life when your camera is off. A typical battery life could be up to 166 working hrs for Alkaline type, 150 working hrs for NiMH rechargeable, 208 working hrs for Lithium, and incredible 6300+ hrs for stand-by mode.
