Detailed Installation Steps:
Locate the Dishwasher Filter The dishwasher filter is going to be located at the bottom of the inside basin. Most of the time you'll find it under the drain cap in the center of the wash area. It may be off to the side on some models.
Purchase the Correct Filter for Your Dishwasher Before you buy the new dishwasher filter, make sure you know what type to get. Some dishwashers use a triple-layer helix filter, while others use extra-fine filters.
Turn the Power Off Your home may have the dishwasher connected to the kitchen circuit breaker or to one all its own. Turn the breaker off at the circuit. This will ensure the dishwasher is not accidentally turned on while you are working on it.
Remove the Filter Cover There are two ways the filter cover may be secured to the dishwasher. The first is with a top cover that simply pops off. The other way is through a cover that either screws off or is held down with two screws. Determine which type and remove the cover.
Remove the Old Dishwasher FilterYou will see a cup the dishwasher filter sits in. Grab the handle of the cup and pull straight up.
Clean Out the Filter Basin If the filter is clogged with small food particles,clean this out with a sponge or a rag.
Replace the Dishwasher Filter Set the new dishwasher filter into the cup assembly. Make sure the water tube is still connected tightly to the cup. Place the assembly back into the basin and snap the cup back into place.
Replace the Cover Position the cover back onto the housing. Secure it by the screws or through popping the top back on.
Turn the Power On and Run the Dishwasher Turn the power back on to the dishwasher and run it through a full cycle.
