Fumitory (Fumaria officinalis) is native to Europe and North Africa, but grows quite well all over the planet. Fumitory is an annual herbaceous plant up to 30-40 cm tall. The stems are up-straight or rising, angular, thin, well branched. Stem leaves, cirrus-dissected into narrow lobes, with a bluish waxy coating. The flowers are irregular, small, collected in simple, loose brush inflorescences. Corollas are white, lilac or pink, bracts narrow, membranous. The fruit of Fumaria officinalis is a brown nut with small seeds. The flowering period of the plant is June-July; the fruits ripen until mid-autumn.
