Special Features

  • OUR PLATES ARE PRE-POURED. DON'T WASTE TIME POURING AGAR. The plates are pre-poured, MAC (MacConkey Agar). MacConkey agar is a selective and differential culture medium for bacteria designed to selectively isolate specific organisms.
  • THESE MACCONKEY AGAR PLATES ARE MANUFACTURED IN THE USA. They have a thick layer of agar which promotes good growth, have been professionally poured and packaged.
  • PLATE DIMENSIONS. The plates are 100mm in diameter x 15mm deep. The agar in the plates has a depth on average of 6-7mm.
  • DESCRIPTION: 13.5g Agar, 17.0g Peptone, 3.0g Proteose Peptone, 10.0g Lactose, 31.5g Bile Salts #3, 5.0g Sodium Chloride, Neutral Red 30.0mg, Crystal Violet 1.0mg.

MacConkey agar is a selective and differential culture medium designed to selectively isolate gram negative bacilli and differentiate based on lactose fermentation. Our MacConkey Agar contains crystal violet and bile salts. Professionally poured and packaged in the USA.
