St. Gerard's is an Italian saint who was a Redemptorist brother. He served as gardener, tailor, fundraiser, peacemaker and spiritual adviser. Near the end of his life, he had been visiting a friends home. When he was leaving, the friends daughter followed him out because he had forgotten his handkerchief. He told her "Keep it. It will be useful to you some day". The girl kept it and years later she her life was in danger during childbirth and she remembered his words and asked for the handkerchief.. Immediately the danger passed and both she and child survived.
