The wireless receiver of Sony's UWP-D series (urx-p40) can be attached to camcorders or interchangeable-lens cameras that have an MI (multi-interface) shoe* using the smad-p5 MI audio shoe adaptor eliminating the need for connecting cables. By using the MI shoe adaptor, audio signals can be transmitted from the wireless receiver to a camera. In addition, the wireless receiver can get power from the camera and the camera can control power on/off, unifying power management. In addition, the combination of urx-p40 and smad-p5 supports Digital audio interface which delivers high sound quality with low noise by direct digital audio recording.
