Fewer than 5% of the tubes we commission for production make the cut. Ceramic Collar: Nothing Better Than a Classic Sometimes, doing things the old way is better. And when it comes to building materials, there are few things older than ceramic, which has been beloved by humans for its resilience and heat resistance for over 30,000 years. We chose premium ceramic for the collar of the 6SN7 Select because it's incredibly resilient against high temperatures, making it an ideal material for vacuum tubes, which can generate a lot of heat during operation. Plus, ceramic is robust against wear and tear, making it able to withstand the rigors of regular use for years to come. Silk-Screen Printed Logos Even our logos deserve a special mention. Settling into Your Soundscape To get the most out of your Apos Ray Tube, we recommend a burn-in time of at least 6 hours. Just plug the tubes in and leave the amplifier on. While there's no need to play music during burn-in, you can if you'd like to hear for yourself how the tubes change over this remarkable period in their lifecycle. Keeping Your Tubes Tip-Top A little care can go a long way in extending the life of your Apos Ray Tubes. Let them warm up for about 5 minutes before each listening session. When removing the tubes, pull vertically while applying a slight rocking motion back and forth.
