Meric's rubber treat ball is 3” (7.7 cm) so it's a little bigger than a tennis ball. It's meant for fetching and supervised play and is not meant to be a chew toy. Whether your dog can catch this ball mid-air or loves to just chase it down for you, this ball is suitable for all dogs from the playful french bulldog to the athletic german shephard. Your best friend will cherish their time with you playing with this bouncy bright ball.
What Treats Can I Put In This Ball?
Meric's ball has a 1.4” (3.5cm) hole covered with four flaps and offers lots of different options for treats and play. These flaps can hold stick treats or large biscuits. You can also fill the hole's depression, covering the flaps, with squeeze cheese or peanut butter. You can open the flaps and fill the ball with over twenty small treats. To get treats out from the inside of the ball, your dog will have to squeeze the ball to create a gap in the flaps.
Can This Ball Be Used For Training?
Yes, it can be used to support training either as a reward or as a tool to tire out your dog so they're more receptive to training. Some pups are food motivated (looking at you, labs!), some dogs are affection motivated (like Cavalier King Charles Spaniels), and some are toy motivated. If you invest time playing with your dog with their toys, then they'll associate the toy with the positive happy experience of bonding with you and the toy, like Meric's ball will become a training reward.
Bringing your pup to a calm place where they can focus on training is also important for their success. A game of fetch with Meric's ball is a great way to burn off some energy and get your dog ready to focus on training.
