* About Washi *
Washi is traditional Japanese paper. The word "washi" comes from wa meaning "Japanese" and shi meaning "paper". The term is used to describe paper that uses local fiber, processed by hand and made in the traditional manner.

* Features of Washi *
- thin & soft - much lighter than common paper and feels better and warm
- tough & flexible - resistant to creasing, wrinkling and tearing and highly workable when wet
- absorbant & decorative - the nature of the fibres creates a better absorption of inks and dyes which result in much denser and more vibrant colour when fabric or watercolour dyes are applied
