Useful tools are a 1/4" socket, screwdriver and small adjustable wrench. All you have to do is loosen the nut and screw, unplug the connector, then remove the old ignition and install the new one.
Tip: This igniter replaces several earlier parts. Wiring may be different; if so, use the porcelain wire connector included with the igniter to cut and splice the wires.
Before installing this part, unplug the range or turn off the range's home breaker. Wear work gloves to protect your hands.

Normal discoloration of the igniter element, if present, was caused when the component was proven by testing during production.
Ceramic wire nuts allow compatibility with different connectors or direct wiring. Other wiring alterations are not recommended.
Unbox and handle with care: The igniter element is extremely fragile and sensitive to contamination - it should not be touched under any circumstances.
