Areza Foam Dressing with Adhesive Border 6.5” x 6.5” is composed of three layers: a hydrophilic polyurethane (PU) foam pad, a thin, breathable Spunlace backing, and a wider than average adhesive border. DETAILS OF STRUCTURE: 1- PU FOAM PAD: Central, hydrophilic PU foam pad of size 4.1” x 4.1” with 5 mm thickness. The foam pad (also referred to as hydrocellular foam by other manufacturers) should be laid down on exuding wound as well as covering the wound edge. The foam pad is non-adhesive (as long as wound has enough exudate to keep foam moist), and provides superior absorption, up to 60 ml of exudate, making it suitable for moderate to highly exudative wounds. It remains intact when saturated, may be removed in one-piece, and may be used in combination with other topicals. 2- BACKING LAYER: The thin, soft, breathable PU backing layer is reinforced with a white, non-woven Spunlace fabric mesh. 3- ADHESIVE LAYER: The wider than average adhesive border measures 1.2” all around the foam pad, and helps maintain the dressing in place as the absorbed exudates tend to weigh it down. The adhesive border should only be applied to normal, healthy skin around the wound. The combined backing and adhesive layer provide the water resistance capabilities: delaying the crossing of liquid from the outer surface into the dressing (about 10-20 minutes), breathable, and a decreased risk of wound and peri-wound maceration. Areza Foam Dressing with Adhesive Border's flexibility and softness add to its versatility as it may be used in a wide variety of situations, including: various ulcers, pressure sores, donor sites, 1st and 2nd degree burns, lacerations and other diverse at home traumas.
