Its pitched roof and end vent holes provide extra airflow so heat and moisture can escape, helping keep your colony cooler in summer and drier in winter, while the overhanging roofline adds protection from the elements.

This is the unassembled version: the timber is precut and ships flat to save you money, then assembles easily with nails or glue (fixings not included). We recommend painting or sealing the exterior before outdoor use to protect the wood and extend its life. Gabled roofs are generally used together with an inner cover or hive mat (sold separately) to stop bees drawing comb in the roof cavity.
