Built upon a foundation of absolute structural rigidity, the AA-2.75 features a patented, non-resonant cast aluminum frame. This high-strength basket optimizes mechanical stability and minimizes weight, drastically reducing structural losses. For this 18" model, the cone assembly is capped with a premium Printed Dustcap, adding structural integrity to the cone face to prevent distortion under extreme mechanical loads.
To safely manage a conservative 1000W RMS / 2000W Peak power handling rating, Ampere Audio developed a multi-stage thermal dissipation system. A large-diameter 2.75" aluminum voice coil is wound with high-temperature wire on a lightweight former. This assembly is paired with a precision-machined vented magnetic gap and an integrated high-velocity vented frame spacer ring, forcing cool air across the voice coil layers to eliminate power compression and heat fatigue during extended listening sessions.
Unlike standard subwoofers that sacrifice accuracy for raw volume, the AA-2.75 focuses heavily on acoustic control. It utilizes a massive aluminum Faraday ring within the motor structure to dramatically minimize inductance and electromagnetic distortion, yielding a flatter impedance curve and cleaner bass. Power is safely delivered to the motor via oversized, double "XL" tinsel lead wires that are stitched directly into the spider assembly, resisting tearing and mechanical fatigue during high-excursion operation.
