Sundown Audio SA-3M 3" Midrange Speaker: Dedicated Sound QualityThe all-new 2025 Sundown Audio SA-3M is an incredibly special midrange speaker, bringing Sundown's low-distortion engineering approach to the dedicated Sound Quality (SQ) market. This unit was built specifically to address the major drivers of audio distortion, ensuring every frequency is reproduced with exceptional fidelity and clarity. Its unique design and high linear stroke allow it to be crossed over low, making it a favorite for 3-way system builders. The speaker is sold as a pair and includes metal grilles.
The SA-3M features components usually reserved for high-end subwoofers:
Linear Excursion: Boasts 4.5mm of one-way linear excursion by 70% BL (with 8mm X-mech) and over 6mm by CMS and LE definitions. This design effectively ensures there is essentially NO risk of the driver reaching linearity limits in most applications.

Motor: A ferrite and neodymium pole cap hybrid motor structure helps achieve 84.5dB sensitivity at 1-watt.

LE Treatment: Incorporates double LE treatment via both a copper pole sleeve and an aluminum magnet ID shorting ring, allowing the SA-3M to play full-range to beyond 20kHz.

Suspension: The surround and spider suspension system underwent over a year of FEA simulations and Klippel testing to ensure exceptional linearity.
