Most Bee-Bot accessory mats lock the lesson to a single theme a world map, an alphabet grid, a farmyard scene. Useful, but limiting. The Transparent Grid Mat takes the opposite approach: a clear 600 x 600 mm vinyl overlay with a 4 x 4 grid of 150 mm squares that drops on top of any existing surface and turns it into a Bee-Bot programming grid.
The 150 mm grid spacing matches Bee-Bot's 15 cm step size exactly, and the squares align with Bee-Bot's 90-degree turn angle programs, which execute precisely as students plan them. Place the clear grid on a wall-display poster pulled to the floor; place it on a classroom carpet; place it on a student-drawn paper layout taped to the floor; place it on a printed world map or alphabet chart from the school resource room. Every surface in the classroom becomes a potential coding challenge.
The mat is intentionally blank no pockets, no embedded artwork, no theme so the lesson context comes entirely from what is layered underneath. This is the design choice that makes it the most versatile mat accessory in the Bee-Bot ecosystem.
Cross-curricular applications are wide: route the bee around a world map for geography lessons; trace pathways across an alphabet chart for phonics work; sequence routes between numbered squares for math and counting; design custom story routes on student artwork for creative writing. The clear vinyl wipes clean with a damp cloth and roll flat for compact storage between lessons.
Bee-Bots, Blue-Bots, docking stations, and accessories are NOT included this is an add-on grid mat designed for classrooms that already own a Bee-Bot or Blue-Bot Class Pack and want to expand lesson variety without buying additional themed mats. Compatible with both Bee-Bot See & Say and Blue-Bot programmable floor robots.
Built for preschool, kindergarten, and Grade 1-2educators, learning centers, homeschool families, and after-school STEM clubs running a Bee-Bot or Blue-Bot coding program for students ages 3 through 7.
