When capacitors are connected in series, the total capacitance is calculated as follows:
1/Ctotal = 1/C1 + 1/C2 + ... + 1/Cn
Where Ctotal is the total capacitance, and C1, C2, ... Cn are the capacitance values of the individual capacitors.
In this example, six 10F capacitors are connected in series, so:
1/Ctotal = 1/10 + 1/10 + 1/10 + 1/10 + 1/10 + 1/10 = 6/10
Therefore, Ctotal = 10/6 = 1.67 Farads.
