Meet the Rainger FX Binary Pulsar, the ultimate rhythmic powerhouse for your pedalboard or desktop. As the highly anticipated stereo evolution of the discontinued Deep Space Pulsar, this all-digital sidechainer, panner, and tremolo pedal is equipped with a switchable analog 'warm' circuit. Whether you are adding subtle groove-inducing dips or generating massive, complex stereo patterns, the Binary Pulsar is designed to completely transform your sound's spatial and rhythmic dynamics.
Housed in a custom floor or desk-mounted enclosure, it is highly adaptable to any rig. Sync it seamlessly with your modular synth setup, a drum machine, an external microphone, or control it on the fly with the built-in, multi-function performance pad.
Key Features
True Stereo & Dual Mono Routing: Features true stereo inputs and outputs. Run a mono signal and process it into expansive stereo, or plug in two separate mono instruments and preserve their independent signal paths through the pedal.
Total Sync Adaptability: Sync to external CV/Gate signals, the Rainger FX Snare Trap, a drum machine voice output, or an external mic (XLR or 1/4”). Alternatively, use the integrated touch pad for highly correctible internal tap tempo.
Rhythmic Multipliers: Take a standard 4/4 pulse and easily double it to 8ths, quadruple it to 16ths, or blend switches for 12ths. Use the ‘WIDE' control to push right-side delays into 32nds or dial in a heavy swing feel.
Analog "Warm" Circuit: Engage the WARM switch to route your digital effects through a gentle analog overdrive that rolls off harsh highs and boosts the midrange for a rich, vintage character.
Deep Space Pulsar Heritage: Features the exact 'HOLD' (dip duration) and 'REL' (release/recovery time) controls made famous by the Deep Space Pulsar.
Integrated Performance Pad: Modeled after the Rainger FX Igor controller, the onboard rubber pad serves dual functions: program your tap tempo, or engage momentary/latching digital distortion and flanging.
Comprehensive Controls
Input & Sync Connections
MIC: External mic input (XLR or 1/4") to trigger the pedal from any fast-attack sound.
SYNC: Input for external triggers (Rainger FX Snare Trap or modular synth CV/gate).
IN (Left & Right): 1/4” inputs. Use 'Left' for mono-to-stereo processing, or both for dual mono/true stereo.
OUT (Left & Right): Stereo 1/4” outputs. Sums to the left output if used in mono.
Tone & Modulation Shaping
VOL: Master volume control.
HOLD: Determines how long the signal stays "dipped." Turn down alongside 'REL' for shallower, faster dips.
REL: Adjusts the release time (the length of the volume rise back to unity).
WIDE: Delays the right-side signal to desync left/right sidechaining, turning mono dips into sprawling stereo effects or swing pulses.
RES: Dials in aggressive, squelchy, synth-like resonance.
WARM (Switch): Activates the analog overdrive and EQ circuit.
INV (Pushbutton): Inverts the sidechain dip into a rhythmic pulse.
½ INV (Switch): Inverts only one side of the stereo output for dramatic panning effects.
Performance & Distortion
DIST (Knob): Adjusts the volume of the onboard digital distortion.
DIST (Pushbutton): Toggles the function of the performance pad between Tap Tempo and momentary/latching Distortion.
The Pad: Tap to set/correct tempo, or press to trigger distortion (hold for 3 seconds to latch).
WHITE LEDs: Visual indicators for On/Off status, L/R signal processing, release length ('REL'), and stereo spread ('WIDE').
