The 120°F thermostat controls the engine cooling circuit to optimize operating temperature across all RPM ranges. Mercury 2-stroke outboards use a combined thermostat and poppet valve system to manage water flow through the powerhead and exhaust system. This complete kit provides all components for a thorough cooling system service including thermostat, poppet valve, cup, diaphragm, spring, two gaskets, elbow fitting, screw, and cable tie. Fits 2-cylinder 40 HP and 3-cylinder 45-60 HP models from 1991-2007. Replaces Mercury 14586A4 and 14586A6.
