★ Lightweight, Resilient, and Seal-Ready Sponge Rubber Rod
Our closed-cell foam rubber rod combines the flexibility of rubber with the lightweight, compressible nature of foam. The result is an economical, high-performance sealing and cushioning material that conforms to irregular surfaces while maintaining a consistent seal under compression.
★ Closed Cell Structure – Seals Without Absorbing Moisture
Unlike open-cell foam that soaks up water like a sponge, our closed-cell rubber rod features millions of tiny, sealed air pockets. This structure offers three major advantages:
Water resistance
Low compression set
Light weight
Use it as weatherstripping around doors and windows, as a gasket cord for access panels, or as a floating seal in water tanks.
★ Excellent Weather & Ozone Resistance
EPDM resists:
UV radiation and sunlight – No cracking, fading, or hardening
Ozone – Unlike natural rubber or neoprene, EPDM does not degrade in ozone-rich environments
Temperature extremes – Service range from –40°F to +212°F (–40°C to +100°C)
Moisture and steam – Excellent performance in rain, snow, and high-humidity conditions
For applications requiring oil resistance, choose our neoprene foam rod
★ Compressible and Conforming – Fills Irregular Gaps
Solid rubber rods require precise groove dimensions to seal effectively. Foam rubber rod, however, compresses easily to fill irregular gaps, making it ideal for:
Loose-fitting covers
Vibration dampening
Edge protection
Dust seals
The rod compresses to approximately 25–50% of its original diameter with moderate hand pressure, then rebounds when the load is removed.
