The Pentair Pentek 150164 Valve-In-Head Filter Housing is a 10-inch vessel that combines filtration with a built-in shutoff valve. The internal valve-in-head lets you close both the inlet and outlet ports at once with a half turn of the handle, removing the need for external shutoff valves when you service the filter. It holds a standard cartridge that reduces dirt, sand, rust, silt and other sediment for cleaner water.
Molded from rugged reinforced polypropylene, this opaque housing offers outstanding chemical compatibility, and radial sealing O-rings are cleaned each time the valve is used for leak-free operation. A pressure relief button on the inlet side bleeds pressure before a cartridge change. It is Tested and Certified by NSF International to NSF/ANSI Standard 42 for material and structural integrity. Both ports are 3/4-inch NPT, the housing accepts a wide range of 2-3/8 to 2-7/8 inch diameter cartridges, and it is rated to 125 psi maximum and 40 to 125 degrees F.
This 10-inch housing measures 12.50 by 5.13 inches and is ideal for under-sink and countertop residential filtration, pre- and post-reverse osmosis filtration, recreational vehicle use and foodservice. The cartridge, SW-2 filter wrench and UB-1 mounting bracket are sold separately and are not included. For a leak-free seal, lubricate the O-ring, hand tighten the sump, then add a quarter to half turn, and protect the housing from freezing to avoid cracking.
