How to Use:
Simply create your standard die-cutting sandwich with the material and die positioned between the two mini cutting pads, then roll through your machine. For best results, follow your machine manufacturer's recommended sandwich configuration.
Pro Tip: Depending upon the age and wear of your machine, you may need to add paper shims or a metal shim under the cutting pad to achieve optimal cutting pressure. Don't be afraid to experiment with thin shims for the perfect cut!
How to Extend the Life of Your Cutting Pads:
- Use the Whole Surface: If your pads show signs of warping, position your dies in the slightly depressed areas. More importantly, vary your cutting locations regularly to prevent uneven wear.
- Use Both Sides: When one side becomes worn, simply flip the pad over and use the fresh side! When both sides are worn out, it's time for replacement.
- Store Flat: Store your pads flat or vertically to prevent warping between uses.
Important Notes:
About the Sounds: These polycarbonate plastic cutting pads often make loud creaking, cracking, and snapping noises while being cranked through die-cutting machines. This is completely normal! The pads are designed to withstand these pressures, and the sounds are just part of the process.
Consumable Item: All cutting pads are consumable items and will need replacing from time to time. They are prone to bowing, marking, and surface wear with extended use—this is completely normal and expected. When performance declines, simply replace with a fresh pair.
