The SparkFun Timing GNSS Breakout (GPS-28731) integrates the compatible with Septentrio mosaic-T timing receiver into a compact board for precise, resilient time and clock synchronization. The module delivers 5 ns timing precision (and can achieve sub-nanosecond with an optional compatible with AtomiChron L-band subscription) with event accuracy better than 20 ns. It tracks multiple constellations and bands simultaneously and provides AIM+ interference mitigation and anti-spoofing for dependable operation.
Integration is straightforward: connect over USB-C (with Ethernet-over-USB/TCP-IP support) and log directly to a microSD card using the on-board button—no firmware required. A 10 MHz external reference can be injected via SMA (50 Ω, −14 dBm to +14 dBm) with an INT/EXT switch for oscillator selection. A PPS signal is available at 3.3 V logic level, and status LEDs indicate power, PPS, data logging, and solution status. For clarity, this timing receiver does not support RTK or RTCM correction output.
