This boost module uses very small but highly efficient for TPS61023 chip. The chip integrates almost all functions, including dual 3A MOSFET switches. Please note that the switch will not tell you the maximum output, refer to the below
We have set the feedback resistor to provide a 5.2V output, slightly higher than 5V, which helps to address voltage drop across cables. We have measured input and output currents and maximum consumption with desktop power supplies and electronic loads:
300mA maximum current output at 5V when input is 2V DC (minimum input voltage for start boost module)
500mA maximum current output at 5V when input is 2.5V DC (2 NiMH rechargeable batteries)
800mA maximum current output at 5V when input is 3V DC (2 alkalines batteries or a close to depleted LiPo)
1100mA maximum current output at 5V when input is 3.5V DC (polymer lithium nominal voltage)
1400mA maximum current output at 5V when input is 4V DC (3 NiMH, or polymer lithium)
Most people will want to use LiPo or Li ion battery with a nominal voltage of 3.7V
3-5V voltage is provided on the IN and ground pins. Then the OUT pin will have a 5V voltage. The enable pin can be pulled down to disable the output, which is a real disconnect, so the output will be completely powered off
