The pressure regulator should be operated by following the rules:
(1) Please be slow in releasing nitrogen from its tank and in switching on the pressure regulator.
(2) Before installing the pressure regulator, slightly open the tank valve to blow out any contaminants, preventing dust and moisture from entering the pressure regulator. The outlet of the tank valve should not be pointed at the operator or others. The connection between the outlet of the pressure regulator and the gas rubber tube must be tightened with a clamp to prevent it from coming off after gas supply.
(3) When installing or removing the pressure regulator, be careful to prevent the threads of the pipe joint from slipping. During operation, please observe the pressure value on the working pressure gauge. When work is finished, please first loosen the pressure adjustment screw of the pressure regulator, then close the oxygen tank valve, and slowly release the residue in the pressure regulator. Last, remove the pressure regulator from the tank and properly store it.
(4) The pressure regulator must be regularly calibrated and maintained, and the pressure gauge must be regularly inspected. This is to ensure the reliability of pressure adjustment and the accuracy of the pressure gauge reading. If any leakage or unresponsive movement of the pressure gauge needle is found during use, the pressure regulator should be repaired in a timely manner.
(5) If the pressure regulator freezes during use, it should be thawed with hot water or steam, not with a flame or a red-hot iron. After heating the pressure regulator, the residual moisture in it must be blown out.
(6) The pressure regulator must be kept clean. It should not be contaminated with grease or dirt. If there is grease on it, it must be wiped clean before use.
Pressure regulators and pressure gauges for different gases should not be used interchangeably.
Since the pressure inside the tank is relatively high, while the pressure required at the gas welding, gas cutting, and usage points is relatively low, a pressure regulator is needed to reduce the high-pressure gas stored in the tank to a low-pressure gas, and to ensure that the required working pressure remains stable throughout. In short, a pressure regulator is a regulating device that reduces high-pressure gas to low-pressure gas and keeps the pressure and flow rate of the output gas stable.
