The Honda Genuine HGO-1 Hypoid Gear Oil (08200-9014) is a high-performance OEM transfer case fluid manufactured using premium base oils and advanced additive technology to meet the demanding requirements of Honda AWD systems.
This API GL-5 SAE 75W-85 hypoid gear oil was engineered to handle severe service conditions, including high-offset hypoid gears subjected to shock loading. Honda HGO-1 was designed to meet the performance intent of the now-obsolete API GL-6 classification, which was historically used for extreme-duty and racing-level gear applications.
Its lower viscosity formulation helps reduce internal friction, contributing to improved fuel efficiency, while excellent low-temperature flow characteristics ensure smooth operation during cold starts. A high viscosity index (VI) allows the fluid to maintain consistent protection across a wide range of operating temperatures.
